Are you the DUFF?
I had an amazing opportunity to attend the Toronto screening of the new film "The Duff", starring Toronto actor Robbie Amell. Robbie actually walked the carpet, bringing his Canadian fiance Italia Ricci and a ton of friends and family! I always love to know that TV and movie actors keep in touch with their roots.
Robbie was so sweet in walking the carpet, taking questions from everyone and posing for a ton of pictures with fans (yes, I did take one with him). He made himself available to fans before and after the screening, which I think shows a genuine appreciation to his fans.

The film itself was hilarious! Based on the trailers, I was excited to see the film, but wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the script was really good and the actor's had very real dialogue, which is not always the case when people write for high school students. Everyone in the theater was laughing and really enjoying the film. My sister actually cried a little at one point (high school movies--always emotional). I was sitting in the row in front of Robbie and his mother, which was actually amazing. There were so many awkward moments where I could hear his mom giggling at him on screen, especially during the kissing scenes!
So if "The Duff" is playing near you, I'd definitely suggest grabbing your girlfriend's and heading to watch it. It's a really sweet story with some truly hilarious moments.
